Anticipation

Let me start by saying, "I know, I know... I haven't posted the pictures I promised." I did clean the day I said I would and it no longer looks like my room threw up on itself. I just haven't made the time to upload and crop and blog about it. NOT that I'm making excuses for myself or anything.... =)

OK, so back to the anticipation part... I am so looking forward to the scrapbooking retreat this weekend. I leave in a few hours and I still have so much to do. It is going to be loads of fun but it is a little bittersweet. While I will love getting some time to myself, I will deeply miss the loves of my life. Michael and I haven't spent more than a few nights apart since we're been married. And I think we both prefer it that way. He is my dearest friend and I enjoy his company. I will also miss those little smiley faces I get to see every morning. I will not however miss the diaper changes...

I promise to get lots of scrapbooking done and take lots of pictures of the place we will be at, which I will reveal when I get back. And I will eventually get posted the before and after pictures of my haven (my room) because I just know you are dying to see the condition it was in.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Swinging

I love it when the boys wear matching clothes.
These are some pictues I took yesterday when we went outside to enjoy the 1 hour window of nice weather.

Molly could be a circus dog, she likes to slide.

Always fixing something

And now I have to go clean. I'm posting before and after pictures tomorrow (talk about honest blogging!)

Take That McDonalds!

We were in Walmart the other day and Ayden asked for Micky D's. I told him no and to avoid a total meltdown I told him we would make something special for dinner.

I used cookie cutters on chicken tenders to make special shaped "nuggets". I would advise that once you use the cookie cutters for this, you shouldn't use them for cookies again. And in hindsight, chicken breast would be easier/better to use. I only got one shape per cutlet. The rest of the meat I cut into small bit size pieces.

Egg and flour (I didn't season the flour like I normally do. I didn't think Ayden needed the extra salt, plus he was going to use dipping sauce.) If I would have had whole wheat flour on hand I would have used it instead. I did add some crushed oats to give it a little more nutritional value.

I know that frying is not the best so next time I'll find a recipe for baking them.

I don't know why I didn't take a picture of the final product. They turned out very well. Next time I will try and use simpler shapes.
